InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto Suburban Icon Poster
Built in 1891 at the height of the gold rush boom, the Rialto Building was designed by William Pitt and quickly became one of Collins Street's most striking facades.
Next door stood the Winfield Building, with a narrow bluestone laneway running between them where horse-drawn carts once carried wool to the Yarra wharves. In 2008 the two were joined and reborn as InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto, keeping their ornate architecture intact.
A print for anyone who loves Melbourne's grand old buildings and the stories behind their walls.
