Spanish Steps of Eastern Beach, Geelong Suburban Icon Poster
Picture Eastern Beach, Geelong, in 1929: holidaymakers gathering on the brand new Spanish Steps above Corio Bay.
The white Art Deco steps were part of a £40,000 plan to turn the foreshore into a seaside playground, looking out over the fountain, the crane and tortoise statues, the promenade and the You Yangs beyond. After fading in the 1960s, the heritage-listed precinct was restored in 1993.
Inspired by the travel art of Percy Trompf, this print brings a little 1930s seaside glamour to your wall.
This Geelong Spanish Steps poster is an original Suburban Icons artwork by Historic Prints, available as an A4, A3, A2 or A1 art print. A thoughtful gift and a standout piece of Geelong wall art for any home or office.
