Melbourne Town Hall Suburban Icon Poster
Melbourne Town Hall has been the city's civic heart since it opened in 1870 on the corner of Swanston and Collins Streets.
Designed by Joseph Reed, it hosted grand mayoral balls, Nellie Melba's debut in 1884, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and even a reception for the Beatles in 1964. Its grand organ was installed in 1872, and in 1900 it screened Soldiers of the Cross, often called the world's first narrative film.
A print for anyone who loves Melbourne's history and its grand old buildings.
Designed by Historic Prints as part of the Suburban Icons collection, this Melbourne Town Hall art print comes in A4, A3, A2 and A1, perfect for gifting or adding a little Melbourne character to your walls.
